Parking Areas
The Town of Charlestown, in its continuing effort to help ensure that residents and property owners are able to find a place to park when visiting the parks, playgrounds, fishing piers and beaches, has instituted a parking permit program. There is signage that indicates a permit is required to park a vehicle within certain designated areas of the Town.
The permit-only areas are as follows:
- Avalon Park – at the intersection of Water Street & Louisa Lane
- Stone Wharf – at the intersection of Water and Conestoga Streets
- Fair Green Park – across from the Charlestown Fire Company on Bladen Street
- Veteran’s Park – on Water Street
- Parking spaces on Water Street across from the Wellwood Club Restaurant
- Parking spaces on Water Street near the Municipal Boat Pier, between Frederick and Caroline Streets
The free parking/no-permit-required areas are as follows:
- Town Hall & Post Office – 241 Market Street, **Permit required on weekends when Town Hall and Post Office are closed**
- Athletic Complex – Frederick Street, while park is open (dawn to dusk)
- Lot B – Louisa Lane, near Water Street, **only designated parking areas for boat trailers**
Resident & Non-Resident Permits
Town residents can get FREE parking permits at Town Hall. These permits do not expire.
- Residents of Charlestown are those that live in the following sections:
- Carpenter’s Point
- Charlestown Manor
- Cool Springs
- Historic District
- Holloway Beach
- Louisa Ln Extension
- North Ogle
- NE Louisa
- Scott Gardens
- Trinity Woods
- W. Old Philadelphia Rd (Route 7)
Non-residents can purchase annual parking permits for $50, utilize the ParkMobile app to pay at the daily rate, or may park for free at Lot B, located on Louisa Lane near Water Street.
ParkMobile
ParkMobile is a mobile app that allows for collection of parking fees. Where posted, ParkMobile is available for those without permits to pay at a daily rate, which is $10.35 ($10.00 for parking, $0.35 fee charged by ParkMobile).
