Town Officials:

Michael Doss - Commissioner

Michael was born and raised in Charlestown with his parents, Bill & Shirley Doss, younger brother Rodney and his older sister Cindy. He has a wife, Darla and two daughters, Maegan, age 19 & Amanda, age 16.

Currently 47 years of age, Michael graduated from North East High School in 1980 and also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management from Xavier Business College. He is currently employed with the Kuehne Company in Delaware City as their Environmental, Safety & Security Manager. He is also a Life Member of the Charlestown Fire Company. 

Michael has served on the board previously from 1999 to 2004 and has held the offices of President, Vice President, Treasurer, Police Commissioner, Public Safety and Streets Commissioner.  During his previous terms in office, He was tasked with getting the Town's Web Page bided, designed and operating and also the security lighting project in the parks installed. As an elected commissioner yet again, he will bring a lot of experience and expertise to the board that will continue to benefit the Town and its citizens. 

Michael’s vision for the Town of Charlestown is to manage growth in a manner that condones smart growth while keeping the tranquility and peacefulness that has been a big part of the history and charm of Charlestown. The future of Charlestown’s Public Safety needs and management of its growth is a major priority as well.
